But it’s Thursday… can we go on a cruise?
Packing and downsizing continues at home. It’s hard to tell if we’re moving too fast or too slow. The stress is right under the surface, mainly because we’re anxious to get it done, get on with the next phase, and meanwhile Covid lurks.
I was lucky enough to get my first vaccine shot yesterday, the day I became eligible, thanks to a close friend who found us an appointment for 3/31. I still can’t believe it happened. Rachel still has to wait until April 15th because she’s so damn healthy. I had a pretty bad case of swelling in my arm, so bad that I could barely move my wrist for about 12 hours. But it’s getting better.
Today we were doing some chores and Rachel said, hey why don’t we go on a cruise. But it’s Thursday, can we do that? We’re still locked into the work week. It’s a hard habit to break after multiple decades. We quickly made a few lists, finished our chores and headed out of the marina. Record time.
Tonight we’re at Blake Island. 7 miles away, at 7 knots, one hour. A perfect stop for the night before heading to our favorite Liberty Bay for the weekend. Why not, even if it is Thursday.
Rachel made the most amazing enchiladas. We forgot to take a picture, dang it. Lying placidly on a mooring ball, it’s a pretty nice evening. Tomorrow, we have to get up early to catch the slack tide through Rich Passage and into Liberty Bay.
